Recently, Lucas revealed Jar Jar Binks was his favorite character, something many fans still found perplexing. Abrams consulted with Lucas on the script for The Rise of Skywalker. Many theories have already been floated around of Jar Jar Binks being a Sith Lord all along and fooling everybody with his clownish behavior. What better surprise would there be than to have an older Jar Jar Binks make an appearance in Episode IX to reveal himself as a secret villain?

A few theories suggested he might have set the entire saga in motion in the prequels, making him a shocking figure that could change complete perceptions about the character and the early episodes as well. With a more astute writing team at the helm, the chances of this or a similar shocker seem more than good. The Star Wars universe began in with the movie now known as Star Wars: A New Hope , which introduced viewers to a galaxy far, far away and the heroes and villains that would lead this one-of-a-kind universe.

For a character who only appeared in two Star Wars movies as he just briefly appeared in Revenge of the Sith and had no dialogue , Jar Jar Binks received a lot of hate, but why does everyone — even non-Star Wars fans — hate Jar Jar Binks? As mentioned above, Jar Jar Binks first appeared in The Phantom Menace , where he was banished by his tribe as punishment for his extreme clumsiness. Qui-Gon saved him, so Jar Jar led them to his underwater city, and that was the beginning of his travels with the Jedi.

Although in the story Jar Jar Binks was a minor character, he featured prominently throughout The Phantom Menace , all due to some behind-the-scenes decisions.

Jar Jar Binks was brought into the Star Wars universe to serve as comic relief and to draw the attention of a younger audience, in an effort to give them a character they could connect with. Often, there can be peer pressure for people to feel like they have to like or dislike the same things as other people for fear of being on the opposing side of whatever is currently being targeted.

All over the internet, there are comments on various platforms stating that people didn't know they were supposed to hate Jar Jar Binks till they read so on the internet or talked to their Star Wars fan friends who are part of the mob.
